Hayward played primarily on the bench during his rookie season in the 2010–11 season. On April 5, 2011, he had his big night against the Los Angeles Lakers. 22 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists were his stats. On April 13, Hayward surpassed that performance by scoring 34 points against the Denver Nuggets. Hayward started some games for the Utah Jazz the following year, but he mostly played sixth man. He was named to the 2012 NBA Rising Stars Challenge Game and got a third-place vote in favor of NBA 6th Man of the Year.
On July 4, 2017, the following year, Hayward signed with the Boston Celtics. He committed to four years. Contract worth $128 million. Tragically for Hayward, the initial six minutes of his Celtics introduction would change his whole profession and life. Hayward fell awkwardly six minutes into the season, breaking his tibia and dislocating his ankle. Everyone who was present felt fear as a result of the extremely unpleasant fall. He was out for the rest of the season, and in March of 2018, he had to have another surgery. On October 16, 2019, Hayward made his long-awaited return, scoring ten points and grabbing five rebounds. A few months later, he defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves by 35 points, demonstrating that he still had his game. Gordon has continued his ascent back to prominence in 2019. On November 5, he defeated the Cavaliers with 39 points. Hayward’s situation is finally improving, and, if all goes according to plan, he will remain healthy and continue to excel professionally.
