About Quentin Grimes

American professional basketball player Quentin Marshall Grimes, born on May 8, 2000, plays for the NBA’s New York Knicks. Grimes averaged 8.4 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.0 assists a game while a freshman at Kansas, shooting 34 percent from outside the arc and 38.4 percent overall. He declared for the 2019 NBA draught after the season, however he withdrew before the deadline and chose to go to Houston instead.

Instead of missing a season, Grimes received a waiver and was able to play right away for Houston. He helped Rice lose 97-89 on November 19, 2019, by scoring a season-high 32 points as a sophomore. On December 4 against Texas State, Grimes had 21 points and six rebounds. On December 8, in a victory against South Carolina on the road, Grimes had 24 points and four rebounds. On December 9, he received the American Athletic Conference (AAC) player of the week award. Grimes averaged 12.1 points, 2.6 assists, and 3.7 rebounds per game as a sophomore.

He declared on April 9 that he would skip his remaining collegiate eligibility and enter the 2021 NBA draught. The Los Angeles Clippers chose Grimes with the 25th overall choice in the NBA draughts of 2021 before trading him to the New York Knicks.
